First there were the School Plays and then there were the Old Boys. Out of the Old Boys Association grew the Old Coathamians Dramatic Society. In later years this changed its name to the Coathamians Dramatic Society, shortened to “The Coathamians” as more and more women became involved from Cleveland Grammar School and latterly, Eston Grammar School too.
